So here we are again! Are you ready to see what Bethesda had in store for us at E3 this year? Well they brought us Bethesdaland! A crazy theme park style escapade through their upcoming releases. Let’s check them out!
If you like Doom and I mean, really like Doom then you might be a little bit excited about the prospect of Doom in VR allowing you to experience the game in full-force. I don’t think this will be one for the faint hearted as you rush around and shoot the hell out of everything but with blood and shotgun shells galore, it also introduces some puzzle-solving mechanics to bring a different dynamic to the experience.
Fallout 4 VR
So you know how I just said if you like Doom…. yadda yadda yadda? Well if you like Fallout, how about having the full version of Fallout 4 in VR? If you have a HTC Vive, you might just be looking forward to adding this to your collection if you want the immersive wasteland experience. I’m still not completely sold on the need for VR but I think being immersed in the world of Fallout could be a little bit crazy.
Elder Scrolls Online DLC
If wouldn’t be a Bethesda show without some mention of Elder Scrolls! At this juncture, it was to show off the Morrowind expansion and the upcoming add-ons for ESO in the form of Clockwork City and Horns of the Reach which are due for release later this year.
While not a game, it is a way for new content to be added to Fallout 4 and Skyrim allowing Bethesda to let outside developers add new content including weapons, armour, crafting and gameplay enhancements. Check out the trailer for more information.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends
If you thought Bethesda were going to forget, the Elder Scrolls card game was also featured with a new expansion heading to PC, Android and iOS at the end of June. For followers of the card game, here’s a taster of what’s to come.
The Elder Scrolls V; Skyrim for Nintendo Switch
So that trailer that came out showing Skyrim on the Switch was not a lie and here it is being showing off… with Amiibo support allowing you to get in game content such as Link’s outfit, Hylian Shield AND THE MASTER SWORD. Guess we’ll be getting Skyrim…. again.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
Now I really like Dishonored, so Bethesda and Arkane didn’t let me down by announcing a new standalone physical release on console and PC in the form of Death of the Outsider. For fans of the franchise, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to play as a new character in this new addition and for newcomers to the series, this is a great chance to get involved in September.
An update on Quake Champions including the World Champions was announced including the addition of B.J. Blazkowicz of Wolfenstein fame. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek.
Evil Within 2
Bethesda presented Evil Within 2 from Tango Gameworks at the show with an eerie trailer showing more nightmarish scenes that are all too familiar to those who played the first game (mine is still in the box because I am a loser). Coming out on Friday 13th October, it looks to be giving its predecessor a run for its money on the horror scale. Check out the Westworld-esque trailer below.
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
Finally Bethesda announced the new Wolfenstein title and the return of B.J. Blazkowicz. It’s almost like they tied everything in a nice, neat bow to finish off in style. It’s another action packed adventure ahead with some awesome graphics too and is released on 27th October.
