Starting up a new venture is always exciting, especially when it is a project that you are passionate about. Starting up a new studio in the gaming industry for me would be high up on the list and this is exactly what four veterans from DICE have done in collaboration with Goodbye Kansas Game Invest and the former Swedish Games Industry CEO. Reading over the website the first impression you get is that these people love game creation, it’s not about the platform, hardware or genre specific but about the game itself. Fall Damage also look to be interested in the people they want to bring on board and grow with, not just looking at their skills (though important) but the personality that they will bring to the studio itself. We will be following Fall Damage as they grow and are looking forward to seeing what their first project is going to be.
─ For many years we have worked on massive productions in enormous teams. We found that we all shared a desire to create something of our own. Fall Damage is our opportunity to build something from the ground up, says Anders Gyllenberg, CEO at Fall Damage.
There is a huge amount of experience going into this new studio with Markus Nyström who was one of the co-founders of DICE back in 1992, along with the other three founders of Fall Damage; Anders Gyllenberg, Mikael Kalms and Dan Vaderlind. They all have a long career in AAA-productions such as Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront amongst many others. Even with just those two titles, you know the kind of gameplay experience to expect from them. Fall Damage is made up of seven people and is based in Stockholm. They plan to double the number of employees by the end of 2017. If you would like to be a part of that team then check out the website for opening and more information on their plan and vision.
We wish them all the best of luck and look forward to seeing what the future holds for them all.
