After a hugely successful open Beta on both Playstation and Xbox One Trion Worlds colourful block building MMO Trove has today been officially released. During the open Beta, it was reported that over 5 million players were investing their time and feedback into this free to play title and Trion Worlds are expecting millions more with the full release. I took a bit of time out to give the Beta a try only to have my eldest son of 10 years take over my character and basically claim that this was now his game. He is an avid fan of Minecraft and looked to be very much in his element in this game with building, collecting and investigating the world around. This indeed looks to be a release that will appeal to all ages and has content available that will keep players glued to the screen for a long time. A new launch trailer has also been released today that you can see below.
Trove offers it’s players a lot of ways to set off on their Voxel Action Adventure.
- Master 14 unique classes — Each character class has its own distinct gameplay styles and abilities, from Candy Barbarian to Boomer Ranger, Pirate Captain to Shadow Hunter.
- Build epic worlds — From enormous geodesic domes in the desert to magnificent castles in the sky, there’s no limit to the possibilities in Trove.
- Collect and customise — Create unique looks with thousands of collectable weapons, costumes, hats, mounts, wings, and more options, many created by the Trove community.
- Explore an endless universe of excitement — Explore fully destructible realms atop majestic mounts like centaurs and neon lightcycles, take to the ocean in the SS Dutchman ghost ship, or soar on the backs of fire-breathing dragons! Conquer untamed wilds from the Treasure Isles to Candoria, home of the sweet-toothed Candy Barbarians.
“We’re sincerely humbled by the outpouring of excitement and enthusiasm from the Trove community during its Open Beta on PlayStation and Xbox One,” said Scott Hartsman, CEO of Trion Worlds. “Thanks to those millions of supporters, Trove on console is off to an incredible start, with thousands of unique worlds being built by players and tens of millions of hours logged in the game before it’s even officially launched.”
