Games With Gold – March 2016

Games with Gold, It’s that time again when Xbox owners start getting the cold sweats and counting down the days until the 1st of the month. The March lineup has been revealed and its a huge month, this installment of 4 top games is amongst the best Games with Gold months, let’s get straight into the trailers and links and see what we have to look forward to:

Sherlock Homes: Crime and Punishment: (£19.99 Value) – XB1

Play as Sherlock homes and use your skills to solve 6 different cases varying from murder, theft, missing people in true Conan-Doyle style. You chose how you want to investigate; you can follow the leads you believe are relevant, interrogate suspects and ultimately name the guilty persons and chose their fate. The game has had some varied reviews but ultimately it would suggest that it follows the Murdered: Soul Suspect angle (but perhaps with a bit more stability and style). The game is available for free from March 1-31, you can download via the Xbox store or if you want to add to library and perhaps not download you can get it from the website (Handy Link Here)

Lords of The Fallen: (£31.99 value) – XB1

This is a fairly small download at only 5.95Gb so you may be wondering what you get for that, and would it realistically be worth £31.99 (Let’s be honest you’re downloading it only because its free). This is a fast paced action RPG, that mixes traditional weapons and magic, it is worth noting at this point, according to the developers that your skills and weapons directly affect the AI of the enemy, so the faster and stronger you are, the enemy will adapt. Rather than try and explain what this game is all about the description from the developers does a far better job than I ever will:

In the Time of the Ancients, the Worldly Realm was ruled by a God of pure evil, who enslaved all humankind under his Dominion. But fear turned to anger as rebellion grew in the hearts of men – until the dawn of the Great Rising, when the fight for freedom began. After a glorious victory that cast aside the Fallen God, humans dictated a new order… a world where no sin can ever be forgiven and redemption was not an option. Now, millennia later, the world trembles in fear as the Demonic Rhogar Legion returns from their dark realm, driven by a foul hunger for innocent spirits.

Humanity, in a desperate last act, calls upon an unlikely defender – a convicted sinner, rejected by society and cast out of the light… a man known as Harkyn. Now, alongside his mentor, Kaslo, they must travel to the source of the Darkness… to face the Lords of the Fallen.

Available for free download via Games with Gold between March 16th and April 15th. You can download via the store app on your Xbox or via the website (Here).

Supreme Commander 2: (£19.99 Value) – XB360 & XB1 Via BC

This strategy title has been doing the rounds since 2011 on the Xbox 360, and will soon be available for the first time on Games with Gold. The game puts you in charge of a global army, wars on land, sea and air will all feature in this game. Only some strategic thinking and quick reflexes will ensure you come out the victor. A truly unique game and one that can be enjoyed for free on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One (via Backwards Compatibility). The game is available for free download on Games with Gold between the 1st and 15th March (See Here for direct download link via

Borderlands: – XB360 & XB1 Via BC

For those who haven’t played this game they are in for a treat, this is a Darkworld Gaming staff favourite (maybe Microsoft knew this and wanted others to have such enjoyment), join claptrap in this part RPG, part First Person Shooter, Part Action adventure game. You find yourself in Pandora, you need to survive and the only way to do this is to look after number one, surviving is just part of the fun though. Highly recommend you pick the game up, even better for us all is that it’s part of Games with Gold (Unless you’re a PS4 player and you’re probably crying into your cornflakes this month). Available from March 16th-31st for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One (Backwards Compatible). You can download via the Xbox App or on the website (Here).
