IDM Colchester: March 2016

DoubleUpGaming are back with IDM Essex (Previously IDM Colchester) on March 15th at Ivor crewe building, University of Essex campus for another great event. This will be starting at 18:30 until 20:45 and we will be attending to cover and meet up with Colchester’s developer community. It is always a great experience getting to have a chat with the future of gaming development world and find out what projects are being worked on and who the people are behind the games we enjoy. Last year saw the first event which turned out to be a great success thanks to Daniel Colaianni and guest speaker Andy Touch of Unity3d.

This time round for IDM Essex the guest speaker will be Amazon’s Mario Vivani, Mario is a Technology Evangelist for Amazon who engages with the developer community and Amazon partners. His mission is to grow and nurture Amazon’s reputation in the developer community, and ensure mobile app developers are up-to-date on Amazon devices and services. He has been an Android Developer since 2010, having published more than 90 Android apps.

Mario was nominated as a Google Developer Expert (GDE) for Android by Google in 2013, and has since been re nominated in 2014 and 2015. Mario is strongly active in the international Android Community and participates as a speaker in a lot of important events worldwide (Google I/O, Droidcon, Android Developer Days, GDG Summits.). Amazon is one of the few companies in the world that both designs gaming hardware and develop games. Amazon’s unique thinking to the gamers industry is to be apart of every available weapon in its arsenal, from Amazon Web Services’ cloud infrastructure to content brands such as ComiXology and Audible.

We are really looking forward to heading back there in March, also looking forward to seeing our friends from Xtreme Gaming, GAME Colchester and OPM Jobs. The added extra that we can’t help but be thankful for is that Daniel puts on a great spread with free local ale and pizza from Papa Johns. Now who could possibly argue with that? If you want to get involved then make sure that you book your tickets, they are going fast.  Make sure to come and say hello if you see me, Kuniku or LeFranzine there, we are always happy meet new gamers and our readers.
