SkullGirls 2nd Encore Hits PS4 This Month

Lab Zero’s beautifully animated fighter is inbound for PS4

On the 22nd July the fast-paced 2D fighting game SkullGirls 2nd Encore will be hitting the Playstation store in the UK. If like me you haven’t had the opportunity to get your hands on the original SkullGirls game then there has never been a better time. 2nd Encore is everything that the original game was, but with so much more.

Put yourself in control of a choice of 14 wildly original fighters with huge personalities that are ready to take on the competition. Whether you are a veteran or casual fighter this game looks set to meet all your needs including a fully voiced story mode with some seriously beautiful graphics and soundtrack from Michiru Yamane, while for the online players there will be cross platform multiplayer and Playstation 3 arcade stick support for those who prefer to bring the pain arcade style.

If taking on your friends or the CPU is just not enough there will be the following options available to you to really test your skills.

Challenges – In challenges, players square off against opponents with a variety of unique battle conditions to test their mettle. Can you beat Big Band without jumping? Or defeat triple Doubles?

Trials – Trials test players’ skills by having them to perform combos. Skullgirls 2nd Encore’s trials include combos frequently used in real play, from basic bread ‘n butter to more advanced combos.

Survival Mode – Skullgirls 2nd Encore’s new Survival Mode pits players against an endless procession of foes – how long can you last? The better you do, the more health you’ll recover between rounds. The longer you last, the harder your foes will become.

Are you one of those players who can’t get enough of their trophies? Well there will be a full Platinum set for you  to collect, a total of 43 in all. So weather you are a PS3, PS4 or Vita owner you will have no excuse not to get involved and take on all this game has to offer.

So there you have it folks, July the 22nd is the date of release and for all who pre-order through Playstation Plus will get a 10% discount and added theme for your system. From watching the trailer this game certainly looks like one that should be added to the collection for all the fighting genre fans and first timers alike. Currently priced up at $24.99 in the US the price looks right too. Personally I am looking forward to getting involved in a new breed of fighter from the usual Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat series I have been known to play. Once this has been released a review will be incoming!
