Grand Theft Auto 5 Online Heists Incoming

Heists header

The wait has been intense and some of believed that this day would never come but here we are. The online heists have been announced and are set to arrive early 2015. This is something I have been waiting for since the firs whispers and from what is being discussed on the internet this is not going to be a let down. As you would expect this add on is going to be for the groups who know how to play a tight game and understand the importance of communication and sticking to their roles (not for the lone wolf). I am writing this while already deciding who will be the main players in the Darkworld Gaming crew. IGN has successfully landed an interview with Imran Sarwar (The GTA Online producer and lead mission designer) who has answered many of their and our questions about this big release. You can find a link to the interview at the bottom of the page. So with this news just what can we expect in these heists? Well there will be five unique strands which contain over twenty total missions massing to around twenty hours of gameplay (So we are looking at an hour per heist which is not bad at all). to be a part of the heists you will have to be levelled to rank 12 or higher which gives even new players not far to go before they can join in the party. As expected the heists will require a party of 4 players, one of which will be the leader.

To lead the heist you will require one of the higher ranking appartments to have room for that oh so needed planning board where you will work out and embark on each heist from. Even before you call in the rest of your team as the leader you will be needto do preparation work such as picking the right people to join your crew, assigning them a role, choosing outfits and working out how you’ll split the loot. There will be a number off roles to take on from car jacking to hacking and I sure there will be opportunities for players like me who love nothing more than sitting hidden with a sniper rifle. Imran has advised “All through this, players will be gaining access to new vehicles, new weapons, new items and new clothing, as well as visiting some surprising locations and interacting with some familiar characters from the story.”

Rockstar will be keeping your interest by offering lots of rewards depending on how you will play, like playing each one in order with the same crew, playing through them in first-person mode (on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC) and cash rewards if you manage to complete missions following the job criteria such as time, damage and accuracy. Well I am not going to lie, I am pretty excited and have no doubt in my mind that I will be upgrading my copy of Grand Theft Auto V to my PS4 and building the Darkworld Gaming crew base. So what are your thoughts? Has the wait been too long or have they time this perfectly with the current generation release to show off just what this game can truly do? Check out the trailer and IGN interview below and let us know your thoughts.
